We want our students to be proud to be a part of Team BKD and take pride in their appearance.  Our uniform has been selected to look smart, facilitate learning with minimal distraction and keep the students safe.  

Ballet shoes MUST be well fitted and be snug on the foot - we offer FREE fitting for all ballet shoes. Hair must be neat and tidy and off the face at all times.

All uniform will be delivered to your class and if you are worried about fittings we suggest going with current shoe size and we will fit them and exchange where necessary.

adult classes and Silver swans

Clothes you can move in and feel comfortable in. Trainers for Street Funk and Fitness, Tap shoes for Tap and Ballet shoes are great for Adult Ballet and Silver Swans. Teachers are happy to advise what is best for you.

PRE PRIMARY and PRIMARY BOOGIE & ACROBATICS

Girls - Lilac vest style leotard, BKD navy shorts and bare feet. BKD navy wrap over cardigan can be worn in cold weather.

Hair to be worn off the face and in a classical ballet bun or ponytail

Girls - Lilac skirted leotard OR Lilac leotard and chiffon skirt, BKD Navy wrap over cardigan, Lilac hairband, bare feet or pink socks and ballet shoes and a soft toy to dance with in class. 

Boys - White capped sleeved leotard / fitted white t-shirt and BKD navy shorts, bare feet or white leather ballet shoes and a soft toy to dance with in class.

BALLET

 PRE-PRIMARY and PRIMARY

Girls - Lilac vest style leotard and lilac chiffon skirt, lilac hair ribbon and/or headband, pink ballet socks and pink satin ballet shoes. BKD navy wrap over cardigan can be worn in cold weather

Hair to be neat and tidy and worn off the face with lilac headband (preferably in a classical ballet bun) 

Boys - White capped sleeved leotard and BKD navy shorts, White socks and white leather ballet shoes

Black character skirt with lilac/lavender ribbons and black canvas character shoes (low heeled) Character skirts should come to 2” below the knee cap.

Hair to be worn off the face and in a classical ballet bun with lavender hair tie

Girls – Royal Blue spaghetti strap leotard, pink convertible ballet tights and pink canvas ballet shoes (soft block ballet shoes/pointe shoes - when advised)

INTERMEDIATE, ADVANCED FOUNDATION , ADVANCED 1 and ADVANCED 2 BALLET

Girls – Black ballet leotard (dancers choice), black chiffon wrap skirt (optional), pink convertible ballet tights and soft block ballet shoes/canvas shoes.

Girls - Leotard/Unitard of choice or crop top and shorts, bare feet and warm ups

All students need 1or 2 Foam block(s), resistance band - heavy

BALLET COMPANIES - Minis / Junior / Teen / Senior

Ballet leotard and navy BKD shorts or convertible ballet tights rolled up to knee for PBT and conditioning and ballet shoes for class.
Yoga mat, Gym ball, small fitness ball and PBT resistance band.

BKD PERFORMERS MUSICAL THEATRE COMPANY AND PERFORMANCE TEAMS

All performers invited to represent BKD Performers at events and festivals MUST wear the Performance T-shirt,  black cycling shorts/leggings and BKD Hoodie to and from the events.
